An American Traitor

Benedict Arnold is known as the biggest traitor in history. If you are not sure what he did, I’ll refresh your memory.
Arnold was a general in the Colonial Army under George Washington. In November of 1777, the Americans went head to head with the British in Saratoga, NY. To make a long story short, Arnold led the American army in charges, which led to the winning of the battle. While in the charge, he was shot in the leg. 

About a year after that, he asked for possession of Fort Ticonderoga. His plan was to get the fort from Washington and then hand it over to the British. Well the Americans got wind of it and Arnold ran for England. While in Williamsburg, Virgina he asked an American POW “What would happen to me if I were caught by the Americans?” The POW replied, “We would cut off your leg and burry it with full military honor for the fork you did in Quebec and Saratoga. The rest of you, we’d hang.” 

Sounds like the early patriots didn’t like people compromising with their enemies. Maybe we need that spirit again today. 

Arnold died a man without a country and has gone down in history as the greatest traitor of all times.

Troop 777's Newest Eagle Scouts!

Last night my friends Paul and Greg became Eagle Scouts, numbers 6 and 7 for troop 777.

Greg's project was to advertise for their towns clean-up day, and to provide a lunch after.

Paul's project was to put up a new sign at our church, pull out the old one, pull out some very ugly bushes and put in a small garden.

Joke of the Week! "Has it gone bad?"

I am back on track with the joke of the week!


A 5 year old boy was given a box of animal crackers by his mother.
She left the room for a few minutes and came back to see the boy lining up crackers and look at them very closely. "What are you doing?" she asked.
"I am looking to see if that seal is broken."
"Why?"
"The box says no to eat these if the seal is broken."

Snow Blowing!

I just got back in from snow blowing our drive way and over to our barn. (If there are any spelling mistakes, it is because of 2 reasons. 1: I have frostbite in my finger tips and 2: because I am not a good speller)

We have 25 MPH winds and really light and fluffy snow. Perfect for white outs and wind burn. But the worst part is under the snow. Last week, we got rain. Then it got cold. And H₂O + sub 32^o temp = H₂O in a solid state. (Or, for you people the flunked 1^st grade chemistry, ice. Ya know, that thing that you put in your cold drink on a hot day?)

Last year I learned about friction in the world. Today I learned about the lack there of in our back yard. I found out the hard way, the ice hard way.

You see some pretty funny things when you have lots of wind. This morning I watched a squirrel get blown off our bird feeder. That was funny!

The snow is nice, for about a day! So, it can go now!

A teacher, at her first day a school, stood at the front of the class and said, "If any of you are dumb, stand up please."
A young boy stood up. The teacher asked him; "Jonny, you are dumb?"
"No, ma'am!" he replied "But I didn't want you to feel like you were standing alone!"

Courageous!

Last night, my dad downloaded the movie Courageous. We watched it on our computer as a family; we laughed, we cried, we laughed some more, and cried again.
This movie is awesome, it is probably my favorite movie ever! It's a must see!
