I am sure that you have heard the saying "Hind sight is 20/20". That is true, most of the time. You might be asking yourself "What does he mean by 'Most of the Time'".
Well, I will tell you! The best way to learn is from your mistakes, but you won't learn from your mistakes unless you are looking and willing to learn! If you aren't not looking to learn, your Hind Sight is not 20/20! For example, I was trying to put a bag of trash in our garage at night. I thought the door was open until I tried to walk in. SMACK! You guessed it! I walked into the garage door! It looked like a comedy act! At least no one was watching! But I learned two things from that: if you can't see where you are going try to feel with your hand where you are, and also, I can't walk through doors!
It would have been silly for me to get up and try to walk through the door again! But I learned from my mistake and, instead of trying to do the same thing again I opened the garage door and walked in with no problem at all! I was willing to learn from my mistake so my hind sight was 20/20.
God allows us to make mistakes (If not only to show us how messed up we are, and how perfect he is), but He gives us the ability to learn form our mistake and if we are humbled and ask Him to help us, He has told us in the Bible that he will give us strength to get through, weather or not the problem is temptation or rock climbing, God will help us if we ask Him with the right heart.
I am sure you can think of a time when you made a mistake and learned from it. But I am also sure that you can also think of a mistake that you didn't learn from and you keep making it over and over again! I know that I sure can, because I am a sinner and a sinner sins. I can try not to but I will never stop sinning, not until I get to heaven. But I can get two things: help and forgiveness, and they both come from God. He is the only one that can help you out of the "rut" of sinfulness!
But you will only learn from you mistakes if you are willing and are looking to learn.
I have learned so much from my mistakes! I have found that the best way to remember is to write them down in a book so that I can go back and look at them!
Remember that when you make a mistake, you need to pray and ask God for help, get back up and try again, praying the whole time.
So what is the importance of learning from our mistakes and trying again, look a Thomas Edison. He didn't give up after the first try. He made the most commonly used electrical device in the world.
